1. Larsen & Toubro secured "large" orders for establishing substations and transmission lines in India and abroad, according to a press release filed with the Indian bourses on Monday. The company classifies large orders as those between 25 billion Indian rupees and 50 billion rupees. In India, Larsen & Toubro will set up two 765-kilovolt double-circuit transmission line packages that are associated with the evacuation of power from Jaisalmer/ Barmer Renewable Energy Zone in Rajasthan to substations in Madhya Pradesh. Larsen & Toubro will build also build a 380kV substation and a 380kV overhead line segments in Saudi Arabia and construct a 220kV substation and three 132kv substations in UAE, the release said.

2. GAIL (India), the country's biggest natural gas distributor, has issued a tender seeking a cargo of liquefied natural gas (LNG) for delivery in September, two industry sources said on Monday. It is seeking the cargo for delivery on Sept. 3, 5 or 7 to the Dahej terminal. The tender closes on July 29.

Adani Wilmar reported a first-quarter profit on Monday, compared with a year-ago loss, helped by higher sales of its edible oils and foods such as basmati rice, sending its shares up more than 6% in afternoon trading. The company, a joint venture between Indian ports-to-power Adani group and Singapore's Wilmar International, reported a consolidated net profit of 3.13 billion rupees (₹307 crore in Indian rupees) for the April-June quarter. That compared with a year-ago loss of 789.2 million rupees (₹78.92 crore in Indian rupees). A 2% year-on-year rise in prices of palm oil — a key raw material — helped power an 8% jump in revenue in Adani Wilmar's mainstay edible oil segment. Sales volumes rose 12% in the business, which includes the 'Fortune' brand of oil and accounts for three-fourths of the company's total revenue.
